toxic·N·blue – neues Album „Charm Noir“

Dass Hamburg und Berlin sich in einem Musikprojekt vereinigen können beweist die Band toxic·N·blue. Seit Anfang 2000 gibt es die Electro-Pop-Combo bereits. Kopf der Band ist zweifelsohne Dan d’ Anyou, der toxic·N·blue zur Jahrtausendwende ins Leben rief. Auslöser für die Gründung der Band war die Auflösung des ebenfalls von Dan d’ Anyou erschaffenen Vorgängerprojekts Black Mystery.

2010 veröffentlichte die Band schließlich ihr erstes Studioalbum „Charm Noir“. Produziert wurde das Debut in Berlin und war Nachfolger etlicher Single-Veröffentlichungen. Thematisch bewegt sich die Band – wie es der Name vielleicht schon verrät – eher in dunkleren Gefilden. Kein Wunder, denn Dan d’Anyou hat recht bekannte Vorbilder: den jungen Dave Gahan bespielsweise oder New Order, The Cure usw.

Mittlerweile ist die Band zu dritt: neben Dan d’Anyou (Gesang, Texte, Programmierung, Produktion) stehen noch André Wylar (Keyboard) und Nils Upahl (Keyb., Git., Backing Vocals, Co-Produzent) mit auf der Bühne. Es dauerte eine Weile, bis toxic·N·blue ihre erste Single veröffentlichten. 2009 erschien „Into my memory / Ship of martyrs“ bei Wannsee-Records. Anfang 2010 kam es zu einem Labelwechsel (nun Synthage Racords) – und auch bald zur Veröffentlichung der zweiten Doppel-Single „Fly tonight / Borderline“. „Charm Noir“ folgte im November 2010.

Es scheint als sei der Labelwechsel dem kreativen Potential der Band äußerst zuträglich gewesen. Zwei Veröffentlichungen innerhlab kürzester Zeit lassen Platz für Hoffnung auf mehr. In der Zwischenzeit können sich Fans der Band mit Besuchen von Live-Auftritten von toxic·N·blue angenehm über Wasser halten.
